He has 30 years of experience in legal advice to companies and executives in the areas of litigation, mediation, arbitration, and ADR, specializing in civil and commercial contract law, banking and finance law, and family and succession law.

Professional experience

  • For 30 years he developed his career in the Litigation and Arbitration Area of Cuatrecasas, where he was the partner in charge of the financial litigation practice. In 2022 he became Managing Partner of ADR Madrid.

Professional trayectory

Lawyer in the Litigation and Arbitration Area of Cuatrecasas from 1992 to 2021, with extensive experience in civil and commercial mediation and arbitration.

In the field of civil and commercial contract law, he has been a lawyer in a joint venture arbitration before CIMA for discrepancies in the contract; lawyer in an arbitration before the ICAM Arbitration Court between an international television channel and a sports rights holder entity for discrepancies regarding the fulfillment of the contract; arbitrator appointed by the High Court of Madrid in a dispute between two hotel companies; mediator in an international dispute over the construction of a real estate complex; and mediator under Anglo-Saxon law during a year-long secondment in the Herbert Smith London office.

In the field of banking and financial law, he has been a lawyer in an international arbitration before the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in defense of several Spanish financial entities under the Spanish-Russian bilateral investment protection treaty; lawyer in an arbitration before CIMA for discrepancies between a client and their securities company regarding the execution of various investments; and member of a pan-European group for the study of the application of the MiFID directives.

And in the field of family and inheritance law, he has been a lawyer in numerous judicial proceedings related to succession issues; lawyer in the defense of a cassation appeal related to the interpretation of a trust substitution; and co-author of the book International Succession published by Oxford University Press.
