Fernando has more than 26 years of experience in providing on-going and specialized legal advice on M&A and financial transactions, as well as in the structuring and implementation of complex investment and divestment structures in the field of Private Equity

Professional Experience

  • Fernando developed his career for ten years at Grupo Argentaria/BBVA as head of the international legal counsel, e-commerce, and investment banking divisions
  • In June 2001, he joined Cuatrecasas, as equity partner of the banking, insurance and financial department for over 10 years
  • He later joined KPMG as equity partner from 2014 to 2016, providing legal advice in the M&A and Financial Services department
  • Fernando is a member of the Madrid Bar Association

Professional Experience

He has proven and recognized experience advising on, national and international structured transactions, mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring, private equity and M&A.

He is a regular adviser to family offices, investment banks, credit institutions and entities subject to prudential supervision in the scope of their daily activities, and in the negotiation and structuring of M&A and financing transactions. He is recognized for his expertise in areas related to the financial, commercial and corporate sectors.

He has been leading more than 100 M&A transactions in the last 15 years.

Fernando was responsible for coordinating the largest public/private M&A transaction in Spain (“Sareb”).

He is a Director and/or Secretary on the boards of directors of regulated entities and start-ups.
